Summary

The 1st King’s Dragoon Guards first action at the front is at Festubert. As an introduction to front line action, they are asked to hold the line for 48 hours. The trenches are very muddy and getting worse.  After their allotted 48 hours, the Lucknow Brigade is relieved by the Mhow Brigade and return to Lisbourg.

Later in the month Reggie is admitted to the Queen Alexandra’s Military Hospital at Millbank suffering from frostbitten feet. He would stay at the hospital until early February, returning to the front in March.
