It is one of our occasional away days and will take place in The Quantock Hills. We\u2019ll meet&nbsp;at 09.45am for a 10.00am start at the car park next to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.co.uk\/maps\/place\/Holford+Bowling+Green+car+park\/@51.1624482,-3.212927,17z\/data=%213m1%214b1%214m5%213m4%211s0x486dfaf688540e5b:0x9a2b08d2240d9ef0%218m2%213d51.1624482%214d-3.2107383\">Holford Bowling Green<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more see walk-->\n\n\n\n<p>Walk organisers : <a href=\"https:\/\/selwyn-family.me.uk\/~chris\/wordpress\/walk_organisers\/jan-merchant\/\" rel=\"tag\">Jan Merchant<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/selwyn-family.me.uk\/~chris\/wordpress\/walk_organisers\/steve-riches\/\" rel=\"tag\">Steve Riches<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jan and Steve have provided the following information about the walk:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>During the research, the quickest route appeared to be Timsbury \u2013 Cheddar Gorge \u2013 M5 J22 \u2013 M5 J23 \u2013 Homburg Way\/Western Way \u2013 A39 \u2013 Nether Stowey &#8211; Plough Inn Holford. <strong>Turn left immediately before<\/strong> the Plough Inn and follow the lane for 0.3 miles (ignoring turnings to the right) until you reach a fork with a white silk mills sign. Turn right for a few yards and the car park is on the left. Zoom out on the <a href=\"file:\/\/\/C:\/Users\/Larry\/Documents\/Timsbury%20Walks\/2017\/Holford%20Circular%20September%202017\/Holford%20Circular%20September%202017\">Holford Circular September 2017<\/a> and you will see the suggested route in red including a way of avoiding the centre of Bridgewater. It is approximately 45 miles. We suggest leaving Timsbury at 8am.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The walk is 6.63 miles long.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There is one long very gentle incline (with a slightly steeper short stretch at the end) up onto the Quantocks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The paths on the Quantocks are easy walking but a little stony in places, so it would be a good idea to wear stout shoes\/walking boots. We also criss-cross various shallow streams.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There are 0 stiles.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It\u2019s possible that the heather will be in full bloom<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There is a possibility that you might meet Kubla Khan, the Ancient Mariner and a Lime-Tree Bower<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the event of the weather being poor Jan and Steve have an alternative lower walk which keeps to the sheltered combes of the Quantocks.
