Canal Basin, Greyfield Woods & The Sleight

This is an extended walk that is a favourite of mine. It takes in many interesting sights.

Firstly, we descend, via Mill Lane, to the Paulton and Timsbury canal basins that marked the end of the Somerset Coal Canal. We then move from the basins onto the Radstock branch of the Bristol & North Somerset Railway where we walk along the former railway line to Hallatrow. From there it’s a short trip up through Stephen’s vale with its waterfall and on to Greyfield Woods. The pictures were taken in the spring of 2019 when the bluebells were in flower. Then we come back through High Littleton & Kingwell Park before the final trip up to The Sleight and the return to Timsbury.
