The next walk is being organised by Maggie and Tony and will take place on Friday 6 April. It is the one postponed due to snow last month. It will start at Kings Weston House, Kings Weston Lane, Bristol BS11 OUR. We’ll meet at 9.45am for a 10.00am start.
Walk organisers : Maggie Horrill, Tony Matthews
Maggie and Tony have provided the following information about the walk:
- The journey from Timsbury to Kings Weston House is about 50 minutes.
- There is plenty of parking at Kings Weston House. The larger car park is to the left of the driveway.
- The walk is 4.9 miles long.
- There are a few gentle ‘uppity bits’, a couple of steeper ‘uppity bits’ with one short fairly steep ‘uppity bit’.
- There are no stiles
- For the most part the walk is on good paths and tracks, although muddy in places. For comparison, it is less muddy than the Chilcompton walk and hopefully there will be less snow than the Priston walk.
- The walk will be in part of the Blaise Castle Estate. There will be good views and many features of historical interest.
- There are toilets about 50 minutes after the start of the walk.
